Perhaps the biggest sign that women are not welcome in finance and economics? The gender wage gap is larger for personal financial advisers than for any other job, according to a separate analysis by the Institute for Women’s Policy Research, a Washington, D.C.-based research group. They make only a little more than half as much as men in the same job (56.4%) compared with the overall national average of 83%.
