“Even though there are more women attending college than men — and graduating college — because of the fields that they’re going into, they end up earning less than comparably educated men when they graduate,” said Barbara Gault, the executive director of the Institute for Women’s Policy Research, a Washington, D.C.-based think tank. She added that colleges “could be holding themselves accountable to do more to increase equity,” among their students.
