I would like to address the need for three important changes proposed in H.R. 2233, the Unemployment Insurance Modernization Act: the Alternative Base Period; coverage of part-time workers; and support for workers who lose their jobs because of family circumstances.
Women are constantly faced with the sad burden that we are still unsafe in this world. After technological advancements that allow us to carry our entire music collection around in our pockets and with women in such prestigious positions as the Speaker of the House and the President of Harvard, youâd think women would be a little better off in society.
