Washington, DC—Twenty-one year communications executive Keri Potts will bring her skills and talents to the Institute for Women’s Policy Research (IWPR). Her past experience includes positions at Nike, the NCAA, and, for the past 17 years, ESPN, where she served as Senior Director, Communications.

At ESPN, Potts publicized properties ranging from the NFL and NBA to the award-winning 30 for 30 documentary series and the launch of espnW—ESPN’s first dedicated business for women. In the summer of 2019, she guided the launch of ESPN’s third domestic college sports network, ACCN, having previously overseen the launch of the University of Texas’ Longhorn Network and the Southeastern Conference’s SEC Network.

Potts has been recognized as a PRWeek 2020 Woman to Watch, ESPN’s Volunteer of the Year (2017), and a PRWeek 40 Under 40 honoree (2016). In 2018, she was a TEDx Centennial Park Women speaker. She is also the President of the Board for Pathways to Safety International, the only US organization to provide assistance and case management to Americans sexually assaulted or abused abroad.

“The IWPR Board of Directors and I are thrilled to welcome Keri to our team. She is tremendously talented and passionate about raising awareness about the issues impacting women domestically and abroad,” said C. Nicole Mason, Ph.D., President and CEO of IWPR.

“For the first time in at least two generations, we have the opportunity to imagine a more equitable economy and just society. Ms. Potts will help us to meet the moment and to amplify the voices of working women, their families, and communities in national conversations about how best to move the country forward.

“I am grateful to Nicole and all of the researchers and staff at IWPR for the opportunity to join their team. I can’t wait to roll up my sleeves and showcase all of the vital ways IWPR’s work serves to inform and advance policies that improve the lives of women,” said Keri Potts, Vice President, External Affairs, IWPR
