Comfort Sampong
Comfort Sampong is an interdisciplinary policy researcher whose work melds sociological and economic analysis with participatory methods. Her research has focused on support for caregivers, algorithmic discrimination, immigration, and women’s informal economies in Latin America and the United States.
Prior to joining IWPR, Comfort worked as a Google policy fellow at New America’s Open Technology Institute, where she analyzed the impact of federal data usage and privacy protections. She also worked as a program coordinator at the Association for a More Just Society in Honduras, developing research and advocacy campaigns around violence prevention and youth leadership.
Comfort holds a master’s in social policy and data analytics from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s in economics and international development studies from Calvin University. From hosting storytelling workshops to generating place-grounded and evidence-based policy recommendations, her work engages diverse audiences in pursuing just and joyful futures.
