As Americans, we tend to think we have the best of everything at our fingertips. But a new “glass ceiling index” shows that just isn’t the case when it comes to women in the workplace.
Data from the U.S. Census Bureau found that women earn up to 78 cents for every dollar a man makes—even though they’re doing the exact same job. Unfortunately, that isn’t expected to change overnight. A recent study from the Institute for Women’s Policy Research predicts that we won’t make the same as men until 2058.
