The weekly gender wage gap narrowed by just 1.5 percentage points from 2005 to 2014, compared with 8.1 points in the 10 years prior, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. At current rates, it would take another 43 years for women’s salaries to reach parity with men’s, according to the Institute for Women’s Policy Research.
“The wage gap has stalled, even though women have made major advances in terms of education and increased their share of professional managerial jobs.” said Ariane Hegewisch, study director of the Institute for Women’s Policy Research.
