    Roughly two-thirds of private sector workers say discussing salaries is either prohibited by their employer or discouraged by managers, according to data published last month by the Institute for Women’s Policy Research, a Washington, D.C. think tank. That’s a problem because at organizations where there is some form of pay transparency — like, say, the federal government — there tends to be more equity, according to IWPR research.
