Mrinmoyee “Mrin” Chatterjee comes to IWPR with a strong background in academic research, having worked across universities and research institutions in the US, UK, and India. Her expertise in labor economics and education policy helps strengthen IWPR’s data-driven approach to advancing gender equity. Her research has focused on women’s employment and fertility decisions, as well as on the impact of nontraditional educational inputs on student outcomes. She holds a bachelor of science degree in economics from the University of Warwick, an master’s of science degree in economics from University College London, and a doctorate in economics from the University of Maryland. During her time at Maryland, she also taught mathematics for economics, using her passion for making math more accessible and less intimidating for all. Outside of work, Mrin fosters cats and enjoys experimenting with different crafting media.
