Marilyn Figueroa is the Administrative Coordinator for the Institute for Women’s Policy Research where she supports operations, development, and communications activities within the organization. Marilyn holds a B.A. from Florida International University in Women and Gender Studies with concentrations in Sociology/Anthropology, Global Leadership, Religious, Latin American and Caribbean, and Queer Studies.
Prior to working at IWPR, Marilyn established her professional foundation through working with/for marginalized groups, including years of experience in program development, nonprofit creation/management, workshop facilitation, leadership development/mentorship, and community organizing. A Bronx, NY native of Puerto Rican ethnicity who grew up primarily in Miami, FL, Marilyn’s passion is rooted in organizing, mobilizing, and transforming communities of color.
