Zahra Crim is the Communications Intern at the Institute of Women’s Policy Research.
Previously, Zahra was a podcast intern for StoryCorps and A/V Intern for Asian American Writers’ Workshop. They were also a member of Celebrating the African Spirit, a Poughkeepsie-based nonprofit that prioritizes the history and legacy of Black citizens while uncovering the Hudson Valley’s involvement in the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. Zahra uses these experiences to unravel and share the narratives of marginalized and underrepresented communities, one conversation at a time.
Zahra received their Bachelor of Arts from Vassar College in International Studies, with concentrations in Sociology and English. They were an active member of various ALANA (Asian, LatinX, African American/Black, Native American) organizations for all four years at Vassar and was a member of the Women’s Track and Field team.
