Child Care & Early Education

Quality child care and early education brings enormous benefits to children, working parents, and economies. Affordable, high-quality early care and early education remains elusive to many American families, however, especially when compared with families from other developed nations.

IWPR’s work informs policy makers about the need to integrate a range of family supports into a comprehensive and accessible early childhood system, the economy-wide benefits of strengthening the early childhood sector, and the importance of improving the quality of jobs among the female-dominated child care workforce.
